Keeping their promise to deliver the first customer units of the new of the new Ford GT super car before the end of 2016, the Blue Oval contrived to have the first batch rolls off the production line at Multimatic in Markham, Ontario, during a ceremony they called Ford GT Job 1.
That means pretty soon we will be able to see the absolutely marvelous car with its unique design, which perfectly blend traditional design cues with modern lines and expressions, on the streets. What’s particularly amazing about this car, apart from the design, the EcoBoost technology, and the fact that it has already become some sort of a unicorn thanks to strictly limited production numbers, is that they managed to turn the new Ford GT from a sketch into a production model in just over two years. It’s a remarkable achievement. We just hope the final outcome proves as extraordinary as everybody thinks it is.
“When we kicked off 2016, we had two primary objectives for our Ford GT supercar – to excel at Le Mans, and to start deliveries before year-end,” says Nair. “We’ve achieved both. For everyone involved in designing and developing this car, including all of our employees and suppliers, this is a moment to celebrate,” he adds. “The all-new Ford GT is a showcase of our strength in innovation and our commitment to delivering more for our customers – especially related to light-weight materials, aerodynamics and EcoBoost engine technologies.”
