2018 Vauxhall Insignia

Official: New Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer

Following the launch of the new-look Insignia sedan, Vauxhall has now released the first images of the Tourer (wagon) version ahead of the car’s official debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The 2018 Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer has big shoes to fill because its predecessor was named the 2009 European car of the year.

As you would expect from a new car, the new Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer is thoroughly enhanced in every aspect. Besides the new and more serious design, the car uses a new architecture which results in a 100 liter more luggage capacity than the outgoing model at 1,640 liters with the seats folded. What’s more, the new model is 200kg lighter than the old one, even though it is packed with features such as all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring and the new eight-speed automatic transmission.

Speaking of high-tech features, Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer also comes with IntelliLux LED matrix lighting, Lane Keep Assist, Head-up Display and unique AGR-certified premium seats, front- and rear-seat heating and a heated windscreen. You get also Keyless Entry and active boot opening mechanism, optional panoramic sunroof, heated steering wheel and seats for all the occupants, optional 18-way adjustable heated driver’s seat with massage and ventilation functions, latest smartphone integration systems, and a new Personal Assistant service with OnStar.

While details of the available powertrains are yet to be confirmed, we know the new Insignia Tourer does come with FlexRide suspension and a host of electronic aids such as Head-up-Display, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keep Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
