Ferrari 812 Superfast Unveiled Ahead of Geneva Debut

The F12, or the modern-day berlinetta, was a model Ferrari subjected to a whole lotta different treatments during its lifetime, and now that they are retiring it and replacing it with a new model its spirit still survives. Actually more than the F12’s spirit survives in the 2018 Ferrari 812 Superfast, as the new V12 bad boy looks pretty much identical to the F12 in profile.

Set for official world debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari 812 Superfast is basically a F12tdf un-limited edition that everybody who can afford it can buy it. The hyper-grand-tourer packs a new 6.5-litre V12 engine with a simply colossal 800 horsepower. That is almost as much power as a Porsche 918, but it will be delivered in a particularity Ferrari-like fashion as it peaks at 8,500 rpm, which means you have to rev the nuts of that V12 and be awarded in the process with an orgasmic Ferrari V12 noise that you just can’t in anything else short of a LaFerrari.

You don’t have to have driven the previous iterations of the F12 to know Ferrari 812 Superfast is going to be handful. Anything with 800 hp and 718 Nm of torque sent through a dual-clutch transmission to the rear wheels is not going to be an easy thing to handle. That is why Ferrari has packed the 812 full of sophisticated electronic aids and assistants, such as sport EPS (Electric Power Steering), 5.0 version of Ferrari’s patented Side Slip Control (SSC), and Virtual Short Wheelbase 2.0 system (PCV) to name the most important.

Marking the 70th anniversary of the brand, the 812 Superfast also brings with it to Geneva a new red color called Rosso Settanta. Other highlights include active aero parts, new HMI, including new steering wheel and instrument clusters and the latest infotainment and air-conditioning units. The thing is, after all, a grand tourer.
