The world of compact SUVs is full to the brim with various brands and options, but crucially they all look pretty much the same. Now though there is a new player in this segment which looks refreshingly different. It’s the new Citroen C-Aircross Concept and it previews what an extremely French crossover would look like if they decided to make it.
Design-wise, Citroen C-Aircross Concept is very hard to mistake for anything but a Citroen. It is strongly influenced by the car maker’s current lineup, especially the new C3, and it has the overall look and feel of the Aircross series to it which a lot of people don’t like. Then again, this is still a concept and it can get away with boasting features such as rear-hinged doors at the back. That said, features like quilt-effect seats, large windows and panoramic roof could make it into the production version. Other Citoren-y highlights include a colour head-up display, a single spoke steering wheel with intuitive controls, rear facing cameras and wireless induction charging for smartphones.
Citroen C-Aircross Concept, as befits a car from this unique brand, puts a premium on comfort and peace of mind. It begins with a light and cozy interior with comfy seats, and continues with Advanced Comfort features such ergonomically placed buttons and easy to use technology features including Connect Nav, a 3D connected navigation system with voice recognition. The concept also features Citroen’s Grip Control dial which enables different driving mode for the crossover including Standard, Snow, Sand, Off-road and ESP Off which allows the driver to deactivate the ESP (active up to 50km/h or 31mph).
