Acura RLX Sport Hybrid – Pricing and Specs

Acura RLX Sport Hybrid – Pricing and Specs

If you are shopping these days for a high-performance, classy sports-luxury sedan, making a decision has just got a little bit harder for you because Acura has launched a new version of the RLX. Available now across the U.S., the 2016 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid is a 377 horsepower, 29 mpg sports sedan that costs $59,950.

Mind you, that price is the base cost excluding any option or tax and delivery. So realistically, Acura RLX Sport Hybrid is more like $65K, which is a substantial amount of money, especially if you have a look around the second-hand marker and see what this kind of dough can buy you there. But if you buy this Acura you can boast to your friends that it’s got basically the same hybrid technology as the NSX supercar, consisting of a 3.5-liter, 310-horsepower, 24-valve SOHC i-VTEC V6, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) with built-in motor-generator powering the front wheels, and two rear electric motors for the rear wheels.

Despite all this high tech features Acura RLX Sport Hybrid does not manage better than 29/30/29 mpg (city/highway/combined). Then again, it is a fairly quick sedan with 19 inch rims packed with high-end features such as such as Electronic Parking Brake with Automatic Brake Hold, a capless refueling system, Smart Entry/Smart Start keyless access system, easy-to-use and customize dual touch screens, “tensionless” e-pretension front seatbelts, and available rain-sensing windshield wipers. There is also the AcuraWatch safety pack the highlights of which include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow (LSF), Collision Mitigation Braking System and Cross Traffic Monitor.
