Turns out the new Honda Civic Type R is not going to enjoy being the hottest hot hatch around, because Renault will soon reveal this, the new 2018 Renault Megane RS. They have just released a cool teaser announcing the Frankfurt Motor Show in September as the venue for the global debut of the car. The 2018 Renault Megane RS will get an elaborate dynamic drive at the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend with Nico Hülkenberg driving the car on the street circuit. The debut RS will be dressed in the traditional RenaultSport colors of yellow and black.

As for the specs and details of the 2018 Renault Megane RS itself, the French remain tight-lipped on that for now, only revealing that the new RS utilizes F1 technologies and is more dynamic and more efficient than all its predecessors as seen in the teaser video above. There has never really been a bad Megane RS, even though sometimes the new technologies they implement on the car make the traditional fans of the car quite mad. But we are excited all the same to see what sort of performance figures the new hot hatch boasts. Will it be able to tear the Type R a new one? Or will it have to be content competing with lesser rivals?
