So the third member of the current 911 family to get the successful 991.2 facelift and upgrade treatment is the GT3, and what results from this is a spectacular machine. The 2018 Porsche 991 GT3 Facelift has become so good, it is going to make you question the logic in getting a GT3 RS.
I mean, for one thing, the 2018 Porsche 991 GT3 now packs 500 horsepower from a high-revving naturally aspirated engine, and it has the rear-axle steering, and it can be had wither a manual or the seven-speed double-clutch transmission (PDK). This makes you wonder, what sort of monster the next RS would be, because it will have to be better than this.
To give you some facts and figures, the 2018 Porsche 991 GT3 Facelift weighs 1,430 kg with a full fuel tank and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. Its boasts a top speed of 318 km/h. If you opt for the optional six-speed manual, those figures will change a bit – o to 100 in 3.9 seconds and top speed 320 km/h. Meanwhile the handling is improved through a re-calibrated rear-steering system and revised aerodynamics the highlights of which include lightweight rear end with exhaust air openings and on the new diffusor.
Besides the altered looks 2018 Porsche 991 GT3 Facelift also gets subtly revised interior, now even more driver focused. There are three additional seat variants for the 911 GT3: The adaptive Sports seats Plus with electrical adjustment of all seat functions (18-way), sports bucket seats with folding backrest, integrated thorax airbag and manual fore/aft adjustment, and full bucket seats made from light carbon fibre-reinforced plastic in carbon-weave finish. You also get Connect Plus module and the Track Precision app as part of Porsche Communication Management (PCM).
